Under the direction of an Executive Director, the Regional Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing
the operations, programs, and staff of a large branch library and facility.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Supervises, manages, and oversees the personnel of a large branch library and oversees functions and activities of other assigned branch libraries within the Kitchigami Library System.
• Supervises branch managers of three assigned KRLS branches.
• Oversees collection development and maintenance activities of their library and collection development activities in assigned regional branches.
• Develops, plans, coordinates, promotes, and implements library programming and projects within branches in the region.
• Identifies opportunities for technology improvements and assists branch managers and stakeholders in strategic planning for technology advancement throughout the system.
• Oversees the management of the operating budget of the library and the financial operations of the branch and
across assigned branch libraries.
• Serves on various committees as representative of the Library System and assigned branches to outside groups
such as community education advisory council, literary provider organizations, and other committees.
• Oversees facility management functions of the branch and monitors needs across assigned regional branches.
• Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required.
Includes other duties as assigned by the Regional Director. Staff work may include some evenings and Saturdays in
accordance with branch hours as listed on www.krls.org (OR BY CLICKING ON THE ''APPLY'' BUTTON).

Qualifications and Skills:
To be considered for this position, the applicant must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Library and Information
Science and 3 years of professional library experience and supervisory experience; or a combination of education and
experience necessary to perform the work. The applicant must also have good communication skills, dedication to
public service, experience with staff development and personnel skills, experience with local government, knowledge of
library roles and functions, and technology skills. Library technology experience is an asset. Experience with SirsiDynix
Symphony a plus. Reports to the Regional Library Director.
Wage and Benefits:
$35.51 - $36.95 per hour. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Covered by Worker’s Compensation,
Unemployment Compensation, Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA), and Social Security. Group health
insurance. Probationary period 6 months.
