The East Grand Forks Civil Service is accepting applications for a full-time Mechanic within the Public Works Department.

Responsibilities include: performing technical work maintaining, repairing, installing or modifying tools, machinery, heavy equipment and vehicles, coordinating the use of the service center, keeping applicable records, reports and files related to services rendered, and related work.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and Associates/Technical degree in truck mechanics, auto and light truck mechanics, or related field and moderate experience working on equipment and truck mechanics, auto and light truck mechanics, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have or be able to obtain a commercial driver’s license.

Pay Range: $26.88 to $37.09 per hour, depending on experience (2026-2028 Contract). Experienced Mechanics potential starting pay of $29.18-31.50 based upon qualifications.
