Candidate is responsible for the management and reporting of the financial data of the company and ensuring the accuracy of the data. Their duties include preparing bi-weekly payroll, financial statements, examining, and analyzing the company’s accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for all aspects of accounting and communicating with staff to ensure all accounting tasks are completed with accuracy and in a timely manner.

Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with peers or subordinates by telephone, in written form, email, or in person.
Possess technology skills to proficiently work with computers and utilize QuickBooks software. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and Power Point programs.
Possess the ability to work with accuracy in documenting/recording information in written/paper or digital/electronic form; efficiently performing administrative activities such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork, filing reports.
Possess the ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, facilitating cooperation with others while maintaining these relationships over time.
Tasks:
Prepares and distributes financial reports, journals, ledgers, and other records to ensure accuracy and to identify problems or opportunities for improvement.
Maintains the financial records of Halverson Wood Products, Inc.
Communicates with customers and vendors regarding payments, billing, and outstanding invoices to reconcile their accounts.
Receives and processes incoming payments, transfers, and deposits.
Responsible for budgets and forecasts.
Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable, including entering invoices, payments, and reconciliation of accounts.
Reconciles bank statements, loans, and contracts.
Ensures government filings, deposits and required submissions are done on time.
Keeps CEO up to date on loans and bank balances.
Stores and maintains records as required by state and federal laws.
Manages income and expenditure accounts.
Files and remits taxes and other financial obligations.
Provides data for bi-weekly payroll, prepares payroll, and payroll taxes.
Provides monthly and year-end financials and reports to CPA firm.
Experience, Education & Required Skills:
High proficiency with QuickBooks Pro and Microsoft Office programs
Minimum 2-year AA degree in accounting; bachelor’s in accounting preferred
3-5 years professional accounting experience preferred.
Proficient in Excel spreadsheets
Manufacturing accounting experience preferred but not required.
Fully Integrated ERP software experience a plus.
Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills including the ability to troubleshoot issues.
Possess strong ethics and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Be self-motivated with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to collaborate with team members and other departments.
Ability to adapt to change.
