The City of Brainerd is recruiting a Recreation Specialist for the Public Works Department. Qualifications for the position include:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• College courses with major studies in recreation and leisure, parks, sports management, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in recreation and leisure, parks, coaching, sports management, event planning, marketing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the Public Works Director.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Possess the following certifications within fourteen (14) days of hire:
1. Department required concussion training.
2. CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Possess the following license/certification within six (6) months of hire: State of MN Food Handler’s license.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in recreation, leisure, physical education, sports management or related field is a highly desired qualification.

2024 Hiring Range: $31.04 to $34.59
2024 Pay Range: $31.04 to $36.95
*2024 Performance-based Pay Opportunity: Up to $41.39
