Salary: $18 - $20 per hour, DOQ

Position Overview
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor/Plant Manager, the Shipping and
Packaging Specialist is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping products with
accuracy and care. This role ensures that all customer orders are fulfilled efficiently,
timely and securely, and with the utmost attention to quality.
Key Responsibilities
Manage shipping documents e.g., shipping labels, packing slips, bill of lading, bar
code labels, etc.
Follow shipping instructions set by production. Routes outgoing shipments
through various means of transportation.
Pack and box product. Label, weigh and stack on pallets or carts. Place in
designated areas, such as shipping zones or inventory.
For certain jobs utilize the pallet jack, shrink wrapper, taper, or other means to
retrieve, prepare and/or stock material.
Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department
supervisor.
Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all
times.
Files shipping documents. Maintains shipment history files.
Follow all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of
safety equipment and relevant safety procedures.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Excellent skills are required in reading, writing, and spoken communication.
Ability to safely run shipping equipment; pallet jack, shrink wrapping machine,
taper, etc. Previous forklift operation experience preferred.
Routinely and safely lifting, pushing, pulling up to 40 lbs., 10-20 feet in distance
regularly; 40-55 lbs.+ occasionally (Pre-employment lifting test is required).
The ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel and lift cumbersome
objects.
The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram,
or schedule form.
The ability to solve practical problems and excellent multitasking skills.
Organized, strong attention to details and accurately complete high volumes of
work.
The ability to function successfully in a self-managed environment.
Comfortable working with and able to learn new computer skills.
Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as needed.
